Advanced Home Mechanic Series

This is a six week course where we will cover a wide variety of topics and give you the knowledge to feel confident tackling mechanic projects at home. These classes will be offered individually or as a package. The full series package includes a 6th class where you’ll be able to work on your own bike at the shop!

DATES:

1/25: Class 1: Intro To Bike Mechanics - Tool overview, bicycle anatomy, torque specs, and laying a base to be a confident home mechanic!

2/1: Class 2: Braking Systems - Adjust different types of brakes, replacing brake cable, troubleshooting braking issues, and replacing brake pads.

2/8: Class 3: Drivetrain - Checking wear and installing drivetrain parts, adjusting shifting, trouble shooting common problems.

2/15: Class 4: Wheels - Truing wheels, replacing a broken spoke, how to assess the “health” of a wheel. Covering tire install, tubeless set ups. 

2/22: Class 5: Bearing Systems - Go over the components of a bearing system and apply that to wheel hubs, bottom brackets, and headsets, touching on both loose ball and sealed bearings.  

2/29: Class 6: BYOBike - You will have a chance to bring in your bike, work on it in the shop and ask us specific questions. We can also use this class to go into more depth on specific topics if needed. *Only available to folks who sign up for the whole class package.

Pricing is offered on a sliding scale.

Individual Classes: $55 - $75

Full Class Series: $300 - $380
